What to buy a knitting fanatic

Sometimes Christmas shopping can be a real pain. It’s hard to know what some people want and you could be going around and around in circles before you settle on the perfect gift, if at all. However, if you’ve got a knitting fanatic to shop for then you are on much safer ground. There are plenty of options that you can look at for the knitting fanatic. Here are just a few ideas about what you can get for them. Chances are, it will be very much appreciated.

  1. Wool. We might as well start off with the most obvious choice! There is so much variety in the wool you can buy that it’s no shame getting the knitter some more. Chunky, Super Chunky Aran, thin, multicoloured or single colour it’s all there for the taking and giving. You might even be the recipient of one of the knitters projects.
  2. Knitting Kits possibly one for the new fanatic looking to find their feet in the hobby. These ready made kits come with a project, wool and instruments that you need to complete the work. Scarves. Toys, jumpers and blankets are just some of the many options that the knitting fanatic can go for. It’s a great way for them to be introduced to the craft.
  3. Needles. Probably up there with wool as one of the most obvious presents you can get. However it’s one of the most commonly used implements of the knitter and is something that you can never have too many off. Needles can become cracked and broken quite easily, meaning that the knitter could drop a stitch or not have a very good sewing session resulting in a ragged end product.
  1. Sewing books. Filled with projects and hints and tips these publications are a must for the fanatic knitter. Old patterns and new patterns are just what is needed and many sewing books have plenty of information to share on the subject. They also sometimes feature histories of knitting such as the tale of the Aran sweaters creation.
  2. A knitting box. That wool has to go somewhere! Also, a good sized knitting and sewing box is great for the transportation of all the wool they’ve  got in storage and the projects they are working on. The great thing about knitting is you can do it anywhere.
  3. A wardrobe. As the knitter probably has a full range of garments they will need somewhere decent to store them all before they can wear them.
