The Perfect Cuppa

Many morning and daily rituals include a cup of tea. Around 165 million cups of tea are consumed in Britain every day. Everyone has their own way of making tea. Even the mug they use is unique.

Choose the right tea for your mood

A good cup of black tea can give you a boost if you are tired. A soothing cup of peppermint can help you digest if you are feeling a little full after a delicious meal. If you are wide awake, but still want to get to sleep, then a soothing cup of camomile can help you to relax and fall into a deep, peaceful sleep.

Use decent tea, of course!

Whatever your taste, you’ll find a tea that suits you. Start the day with English Breakfast, then add some zest with Lady Grey. Enjoy an Afternoon tea box delivery from www.afternoonteabox.com/

Choose your favourite mug, cup or teapot

After you have chosen the right tea for your mood, it’s time to select the perfect cup in which to enjoy it. The teacup is a very important part of the perfect cup of tea. The tea will taste better if you enjoy the cup that you are drinking from. Once you’ve chosen your cup, start the kettle.

Use only cold, freshly drawn water

Use only cold, freshly drawn water (filter if you can) in your kettle. The oxygen in the air helps to develop the flavour of tea. Don’t re-boil it. You’ll end up with a very flat cup of tea if you continue to re-boil the water.

Check the water temperature

After your kettle is boiled, it needs to be left for a couple of minutes to cool.

If you read this, you may think “but I like my tea hot?” You can still get a hot cup of tea by leaving it for a couple minutes. Pouring boiling water onto tea bags will burn the tea.
